Upcoming Events

I’ll be interviewing Amy Jeffs about her wonderful new book Saints: A New Legendary of Heroes, Humans and Magic at the Stroud Book Festival on Saturday 9th November. Tickets will be available here. Amy is such a wonderful speaker and storyteller — she will hold us all spellbound as she relates these stories that our ancestors knew so well.

On 23rd November at 1.30pm I’ll be taking part in a publishing panel along with an editor, literary agent and self-published author as part of Richmond Reads. Aimed as aspiring authors, this discussion aims to demystify the publishing process - tickets are available here.

I’m absolutely thrilled to be teaming up with the amazing Chris Riddell again for another event around Heroes and Villains: Poems about Legends. We’ll be sharing stories and poems, and Chris will be drawing live, at the Story Museum in Oxford on 15th February at 2.30pm. It’s suitable for ages 6+. Get ready to cheer for your champion in the World Cup of Legendary Beasts and Baddies!

Tickets are available here.

Contact Me for Future Events

Do get in touch (you can email me here) if you’d like to book me to speak at a school, library, bookshop or literary festival, or to chair an author event.

School Events

I speak to Primary School audiences at all levels, and Secondary Schools up to Year 8, and I have interactive talks on nature poems, poetry by women and poems about myths and legends. Find more detailed information on my talks here.

Bookshop, Library and Festival Talks

I love joining panels and being interviewed about books and poetry, and I also have illustrated talks for adults on the hidden history of women’s writing, mythology and legends.

Event Chairing

My experience as both an author and a publicist has been invaluable in event chairing both in person and online. It has been a pleasure to manage warm and lively discussions with fascinating writers including Elly Griffiths, Mary Lawson, Jessica Bull, Polly Clark and William Sieghart. I can also help promote events. More information here.

Demystifying Publishing

I also speak to writers’ groups, sixth forms and other interested groups about careers in Publishing, book publicity for authors and literary events, among other related topics. More detailed information on these talks, which I have delivered in person at venues including the Jersey Festival of Words and online for organisations like The Mum Poem Press and London Writers’ Salon, can be found here.
